Meet Susan Rogan, Au.D.
Who We Are
Susan Rogan, Au.D., Doctor of Audiology received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was immediately accepted into Purdue University’s graduate school of Speech and Hearing Sciences. From there, she graduated with a Masters of Science in Audiology.
Shortly after graduation, Curative Rehabilitation Center in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin hired her as a clinical fellow. Susan’s responsibilities included all audiological services for pediatric, adult and geriatric populations.
She also participated in a multi-disciplinary team serving the multiply handicapped population and as a member of the “high-risk team” providing early identification of high-risk infant’s hearing loss.
While providing industrial hearing evaluations and conservation programs throughout the state of Wisconsin, Susan developed the first hearing aid dispensing program at this facility.
At this very early stage of her career, it became extremely apparent to Susan that continuity of patient care was of the utmost of importance. Although the diagnostic portion of the profession was important, the definitive need was patient follow through and assistance in finding hearing solutions for each and every patient.
Four years later, Susan moved on and became the Director of Audiological Services for Sound Resources in Hinsdale, Illinois. Here, she served as a committee member for the Illinois Speech, Language and Hearing Association. At the same time, Susan initiated community service educational seminars for hearing-impaired adults in independent nursing facilities in her area.
Susan then attended various manufacturer’s training seminars focusing on “onsite” hearing repairs and passed this information to her staff and organization. It was shortly after this that she was selected as one of the eleven nationwide sites by the 3M Corporation to dispense the first computerized hearing instruments.
It was the combination of the computer’s ability to infinitely make hearing aid adjustments along with patient counseling in finding hearing solutions to loss and lifestyles that truly formed Susan’s philosophy.
Consequently, Susan decided to open her own private practice. At SUSAN ROGAN HEARING, INC., “hearing the difference” has been the number one goal of this business since its inception. As a certified, licensed clinical audiologist, Susan has combined her counseling skills along with advanced computer technology in assisting patients.
Susan is currently a member of the American Academy of Audiologists, the Illinois Academy of Audiology and the American Audiology Society.
In December of 2000 Susan received her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. Then in 2005-2006 she served as President of the Illinois Academy of Audiology.
